Wow, our class has been really busy with lots of projects. We celebrated Earth Day by making paintings of the earth and practicing our persuasive writing. Here are some of our Earth Day essays:

Each one of us sets a goal for the month:

And of course we’ve been working on our roller coaster project! This is our spring project. Some of the concepts we’ve been learning are velocity, acceleration, gravity, force, and balance. We are also learning about the difference between potential energy and kinetic energy.

IMG_1507 IMG_1496 IMG_1484To commemorate our project, we are also working on a roller coaster quilt. Each of us is drawing a person or animal to ride the roller coaster. Some of us also drew stars about what we’ve learned. They’ll all be sewn together to make a class quilt. Yaritza is drawing herself:

The end of the year is coming up! Next Wednesday is our fantastic trip to Great America to see roller coasters in action. The week after that is Project Open House, when we demonstrate everything we learned in this project!
