Get ready for SFC’s first Read-a-Thon!

Coming soon: San Francisco Community School will be kicking off a new, reading-based fundraiser!

When?
Friday, March 9 – Friday, March 16 …

What?
A week-long celebration of reading and literacy combined with a fundraiser to support SFC. At school, we will have activities including classroom visits from local authors, book give-aways, cross-grade buddy reading, and a pajama “read-in” day. At home and at school, students are challenged to track as many reading minutes as they can, all week long. Classes will read towards a class goal. All reading counts!

How can you participate?

FAMILIES:
Get sponsors! Ask friends, family, and co-workers to support your avid reader with a donation.* Sponsors can make donation by cash or check — or by credit card on our Donate page. You will receive a donation log next week from your child’s teacher. (Students will focus on the reading, while parents and families focus on the fundraising.)

STUDENTS:
Get ready to read, read, read!

Let’s see how many minutes SFC can read in a week! Please contact us if you have any questions:

*Funds raised by PAC are used to support our garden program, our Family Engagement Coordinator, and many other things that make SFC special, while keeping class sizes among the smallest in the district.
