On Wednesday, November 28 the entire second and third grade took a bus ride out to Treasure Island to take an up close look at the Bay Bridge. This is a part of their preparation for this semester’s project. The students are studying the science of bridges as well as the social studies aspect of local landmarks. While on the island the students were observing how the new span of the Bay Bridge is supported. They also did some sketching and watercolor painting of their observation. The rain only got us once for about 3 minutes which was an exciting moment. After the downpour we got a quick peek inside the Treasure Island Museum before heading back to school. It was a really fun day!
