London St. Mural

Above: a detail of the mural Have you seen the mural that is unfolding on our wall on London Street? Earlier this year SFC won an Excelsior Community Action Grant (a partnership between the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Supervisor John Avalos) for sidewalk beautification for our school. Part of the money will go towards sidewalk greening, and the other part of the money

Two weeks ago (April 26th) we did a dehydrated banana project, to investigate how bananas changed when they were dehydrated (dried out). We discovered their color and texture changed. And that dried bananas are yummy! Last week (May 1st) we made

Above: A mask in progress Today during choice time we continued making masks. People who did their masks last week were able to try them on and take them home since the glue had dried. We discovered that the strings are a little tight so they’re not that comfortable to wear all the time. Also some of us were a little too excited and

Today’s blog post is mostly pictures. Today during choice time we started a new art project: masks! Each student got a foam mask to decorate. We used a lot of glitter glue, so we have to wait for the glue to dry before we take home our masks. We’ll keep going next week. The rest of these pictures were taken by our class photographers.
