The Library at SF Community is housed in a brightly-painted bungalow with a student-designed mural adjacent to the Garden. The Library building also serves as our technology base, where students are supported to (meaningfully) integrate technology throughout their learning and master the basic tech skills needed to be successful in the 21st century.

We have a dedicated Librarian who is onsite Mondays-Wednesdays during the school day.  All K–8 classes have regular Library time each week.  K–5 classes have longer sessions with our Librarian, during which there are read-alouds, and students learn how to navigate the library and the on-line resources available to them through the San Francisco Unified School District and San Francisco Public Libraries. 6th-8th graders come to the Library to select and return books, and to build their knowledge of using the library to support their learning and research needs.

Families and students are encouraged to use this link to browse or look up available books in the catalog: http://follett.sfusd.edu/. From this site you can also access other SFUSD databases, as well as see links teachers have provided for specific subjects/topics being taught.

Book donations are very welcome and volunteers are always needed! If you are interested in supporting our Library Program with your time, talents, or donations, or if you have any questions about the Library Program, please contact our Librarian, Chester Hartsough, at hartsoughc@sfusd.edu
