Family Involvement

It takes a village.

Family involvement is valuable and an essential part of our community. There are various ways to get involved with our community. Contact any one of these groups to find out how.

Make a donation.

We encourage all San Francisco Community families to explore this website to learn more about all the ways in which you can show your support for your child’s school. At SF Community School, involvement and support from our community of families is absolutely critical to the success of our educational mission.

Because of our relatively small number of students and our curricular focus on project-based learning, our school community must raise funds each year to cover many of our programs and project supplies. Recent, drastic budget cuts to the California state budget have made SFC more reliant on donations than ever to cover what we once considered basic operational costs. Please consider donating—any amount is welcome—so that we can continue to provide our students with the programs and enriched school experience that they rightly deserve.

Your contributions of time, talents, and funds are greatly appreciated!

PAC (Parent Action Council)

PAC is charged with community building and fundraising to supplement the school budget. This group of parents and family members works with SFC staff and leadership to put on several community events and fundraisers throughout the year. They meet monthly — every caregiver of a child at SFC is a member and welcome to attend. The PAC serves a similar function as a PTA at other schools. All previous PAC meeting notes are posted here.
